Striker Crushing & Screening is proud to share that we have been recognised with the Established Family Business of the Year Award for Western Australia, announced at the Family Business Insights WA Conference. The award was accepted by our own Jordan Pedley, who reflected on the company’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognised manufacturer.

The conference, hosted by the Family Business Association, brought together WA’s family business community to share stories, reconnect, and celebrate the unique strengths of family-owned enterprises. Inspiring sessions from speakers such as Olympic Gold Medallist Todd Pearson, Harvey Stephenson, John Broons, and the Biernat family from Freedom Pools reminded us that success in family business is built on values, resilience, and care for people.

For Striker, this recognition is more than an award, it is a celebration of the hard work and determination that began in 1998 when Craig Pedley, a tradesman and operator, decided to start something of his own. From those early days in a shed with a big idea, Striker has grown into a second-generation family business with global manufacturing facilities, trusted by miners, contractors, and operators in Australia and around the world.

What has never changed are the values that built the business: hard work, honesty, loyalty, and putting people first. Striker has always believed in long-term relationships over transactions, in building equipment tough enough for Australian conditions, and in backing our people every step of the way.

The Family Business Excellence Awards recognise outstanding family businesses that demonstrate excellence in governance, entrepreneurship, and stewardship, and how family ownership provides a true competitive advantage. For us, this award is a proud reminder of our journey and a motivation to keep improving, innovating, and supporting the mining and quarrying industry with practical, real-world solutions.
